Fisher Road between the Vermont Psychiatric Hospital and Paine Turnpike North is closed because of a large sink hole. Access to the Central Vermont Medical Center, the Vermont State Psychiatric Hospital and the Mall Road need to be accessed via Route 62.

Crosstown Road continues to be closed to through traffic as does Scott Hill Road.

We regret the inconvenience.

*The Governor has now issued a “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order.  People can still go to the grocery store, pharmacy and such along with going outside for some exercise but staying home can actually mean saving lives so do your best to comply.

*At the Berlin Town office, people continue to work but with the doors closed to the public.  Everyone’s phone extensions can be found by dialing 223-4405.  Send an email if you can, otherwise leave a message if nobody picks up.  We’re trying to keep employees healthy so they can continue to offer their services using phones, mail, email, & fax. “Zoom” video and/or phone conference call is being used to continue to hold meetings.  Contact information: http://www.berlinvt.org/town-administration

*The Town is searching for a Highway Superintendent, expected start date June 15th.  This is a working superintendent position with supervisory experience necessary as well as operating highway equipment. 40-hour week with mandatory overtime as conditions dictate. *There are several Town boards, committees, and commissions looking for additional volunteers, this includes the Cemetery Commission, Conservation Commission, Development Review Board, Economic Development Commission, Public Works Board, Recreation Committee, Representative to Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission & one for the CVRPC Transportation Advisory Committee, Tree Warden, and Deputy Tree Warden.  Please consider volunteering some of your time with the community, for further information contact Town Administrator, Mr. Dana Hadley 802-552-8801

*Berlin Corner Cemetery Association annual Monday April 6th has been canceled.  If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Mugford at muggy17@icloud.com

*Capital City Grange events are canceled for the next couple of weeks and Contra Dance Umbrella canceled for the next two months. Next Grange meeting April 4th will be held using Zoom video and/or phone conference call http://capitalcitygrange.org
