The Berlin Elementary School Board meets Friday, March 16th 4:30pm at the elementary school.  The board will be reorganizing and discussion items include Board Goals, Evaluations Update, Construction List Prioritization, and Town Center Plan update.*

The Selectboard meets Monday, March 19th 7pm at the Town office. *

Capstone Community Action offers free tax filing services for people with up to $54,000 in income. They also assist with paperwork for the renters rebate or the homestead declaration.  Located at 20 Gable Place in Barre, they can be reached at 800-639-1053.*

By state law, dogs must be registered by April 1st.  The cost is $9 for spayed / neutered dogs and $13 for those not.  Contact the Town Clerk at 229-9298 for more info.  If you’re looking for a low cost rabies vaccination clinic, Central VT Humane Soc. has one Sat., March 17th 9am-12pm. *

If you have a 3 or 4 year old (3 as of Sept 1, 2018) that you’d like to have participate in a free part-time pre-k program in the fall, there is paperwork that needs to be completed and received by the school no later than Friday, March 23rd.  Also please call the Berlin Elementary School office at 223-2796 to sign up for a screening time for your child on April 5th.*

With the annual funding request for Kellogg-Hubbard Library approved once again, if you’re not yet a patron of the library, you’re welcome to visit them and with proof of residency you can receive a library card.  Proof could be your license, mail, lease, utility bill, check, etc.  The library is open M–Th 10am – 8pm and Friday & Saturdays 10am – 5:30pm while the children’s area is open M – S 10am – 5:30pm. In addition to their thousands of books and DVDs along with magazines, there are two e-book and audio book download services, hundreds of programs for children and adults throughout the year, and free museum & park passes to borrow.*

Central Vermont Little League 2018 Spring Baseball and Softball Programs will have an informational meeting Thursday, March 22nd 5-6pm at Berlin Elementary School. *

Saturday, April 7th is the State Scholastic Chess Championships to be held at Berlin Elementary for students in kindergarten through Grade 12.  For details or to help out call Mike Stridsberg 223-1948.*

May 16th 6pm is the annual Berlin Historical Society potluck and presentation to be held at the First Congregational Church.  This year’s presentation which starts at 7pm is on the history of the Berlin Congregational Church which was established in 1798.*
